The opening ceremony for the 2023 Meijer State Games of Michigan – Winter Games is just over two weeks away. The opening ceremony will take place at the Marquette Mountain Resort (4501 M-553, Marquette, MI 49855) on February 10th starting at 7:00 p.m. This event is free to the public.

MEIJER STATE GAMES OF MICHIGAN OPENS REGISTRATION FOR WINTER GAMES
The upper and lower peninsula events will be held Feb.10-12, and Feb.17-19, 2023. These sporting events are open to all ages and ability levels. The traditional winter sports festival will feature 19 sporting events at 21 venues. The Winter Games opening ceremony presented by Northern Michigan University will be held in Marquette, MI at the Marquette Mountain Resort on Friday, February 10.

First 10 Sports of the Meijer State Games of Michigan
Ten years ago, the Meijer State Games of Michigan were announced, and planning began for the first Summer Games. Typically for a State Games to become a full member, they have three years to get ten sports running. Michiganders however were supportive right away of the Meijer State Games and it didn’t take long for 15 sports to be a part of the inaugural Summer Games.
