At the Meijer State Games of Michigan – Marquette Winter Games Opening Ceremony, we would like to honor our veterans by inviting any/all veteran(s) and their families to attend Opening Ceremony free of charge.
As a token of our appreciation, State Games will be providing meal vouchers to the first 100 veterans and active-duty members who visit us on Friday, February 7th, 2025, prior to Opening Ceremony in partnership with the Heikki Lunta Winter Festival in Downtown Negaunee.
Meal vouchers will only be able to be claimed on February 7th, 2025 between 4:00 - 5:30 PM before the start of Opening Ceremony at Upper Peninsula Brewing Company. Please go to their basement space for the voucher.
To claim the meal voucher, we ask that everyone provide an Active ID or a Veteran Card before collecting. Veterans will have a choice to redeem their meal voucher at the Negaunee Eagles Post 1944 or Border Grill in in both Negaunee and Marquette, MI. Details regarding how to redeem the vouchers are below.
How to Redeem at Local Businesses
Negaunee Eagles Post 1944
Veterans will be able to redeem their meal voucher at the Eagles’ breakfast on Sunday, February 8th, 2025.
To claim the free meal, please present the voucher upon entry where staff collects payment.
Breakfast is served between 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Border Grill (Negaunee & Marquette locations)
Meal vouchers will be redeemable between February 8th, 2025 - February 14th, 2025.
To claim the free meal, please present the voucher to your server once seated.
What is included
One (1) free meal for the veteran or active military member. Meal includes one entree and any non-alcoholic drink. Tax is included, but gratuity is not.
