Get your bow and arrow ready for the indoor Archery event during the annual 2022 Winter Games! The State Games of Michigan is a non-profit, multi-sport, Olympic style organization that hosts Summer and Winter Games. This will be an exciting event for all competitors you won’t want to miss!

Archers must compete in one of the designated age categories with target face/distance as determined by U.S.A. Archery:
Yeoman (for archers who are currently 8 and under, or will turn 9 during the 2022 calendar year) (Yeomen scores will not count towards national or world records. They do qualify for medals.)

TARGET FACE/DISTANCE: (R)/(B): 40 cm/18m (C): 40cm/18mST - standing - has a disability that can affect either the upper body or lower body, but they stand or sit on a stool or chair to shoot (feet are on the ground)
W2 – will have paraplegia or comparable disability. This class will display minimal or no limitations in upper body strength, range of motion or coordination. W2 athletes may shoot from a wheelchair and compete in either compound or recurve open category.
W1 - shoot from a wheelchair but have more severe impairments than W2. To be classified as W1, an archer must have impairments in at least 3 limbs and the core and must shoot using a wheelchair.
NOTE: B1 and B2/B3 classifications for Visually Impaired archers have a separate process through the International Blind Sports Federation.
SHOOTING CONSIDERATIONS/RULES
This event will be a STAR FITA event and follow FITA rules for equipment, shooting process, and scoring. Equipment must meet FITA rules, with arrows having a diameter of 9.3 mm or less. We will follow USA Archery dress code.
We will shoot two rounds of 30 arrows for the session. We will be following USA Archery’s ruling on timing for the tournament.
Archers will be assigned a target, and will be grouped with others for group scoring, Archers should be familiar with tournament scoring. No sky-drawing. Non-archers (including coaches and parents) are not allowed down-range without specific permission from the Tournament Director.
OVERVIEW
The West Michigan Archery Center (WMAC) is an archery education and practice center, focused on introducing people to the sport of archery, and on developing fundamental and advanced archery skills for archers in West Michigan and beyond. The event will take place at the West Michigan Archery Center in Rockford, Michigan. Archers will register and select a single day and time to shoot. Archers will shoot a total of 60 scoring arrows (three-arrow ends using JOAD target sizes for youth archers, and FITA targets for archers in the senior category or older-see category above for details). The event is registered as a Star FITA event with USA Archery, so participants are required to be USA Archery members or have a USA Archery or NFAA Archery Temporary membership. There will be concessions available during the 2022 event.

STATE GAMES OF AMERICA
This event is a qualifying event for the 2022 State Games of America. Any athletes who place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd has the opportunity to compete in the 2022 State Games of America hosted in Ames/Des Moines, IA.
