Krist Oil’s Sponsorship Will Help Provide A Free Meal To Veterans

Marquette, Mich. – January 22, 2025 – Krist Oil is combining forces again with the Meijer State Games of Michigan at Opening Ceremony to proudly sponsor a free meal to the first 100 veterans. The 2025 Winter Games in Marquette will take place on February 7th – 9th, with Opening Ceremony happening that Friday, February 7th in downtown Negaunee.

An initiative built into their company foundation, Krist Oil proudly supports community programs and events such as the Meijer State Games of Michigan. Above all, Krist Oil intentionally works on projects that assist and support veterans in a variety of ways.

With this partnership, the first 100 veterans will be able to receive one voucher prior to Opening Ceremony for a free meal at either the Negaunee Eagle’s breakfast on Saturday, February 8th or at Border Grill in Negaunee from Friday, February 8th – 14th. The voucher can be claimed by presenting a valid active or veterans military I.D., and is good for one free meal and a drink, excluding alcoholic beverages and gratuity. The Winter Games will be taking place February 7th – 9th in the greater Marquette area. To kick off the Games, Opening Ceremony will be taking place on Friday, February 7th starting at 5:45 PM in downtown Negaunee as part of the Heikki Lunta festival. Veterans may pick up their meal voucher from 4:00 – 5:30 PM in downtown Negaunee at the athlete grab bag. Opening Ceremony will include speakers, Olympian appearances, special entertainment, and a torch parade to light the cauldron, signifying the start of the Winter Games. At the conclusion of Opening Ceremony, the rail jam event will begin.
