Update on the 2020 Summer Games
As we continue to get more and more data on the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be changes to the 2020 Summer Games including the postponement of the USA Masters Games to 2021 and the cancellation of Opening Ceremony. We are still planning on holding the 2020 Summer Games and are hopeful the events can still take place at the end of June.
We ask that you be patient as we work through all the necessary event changes. If events end up being moved or cancelled, we will contact registered athletes about their options
USA Masters Games
A statement on the USA Masters Games was released April 10, 2020 (click here to read). If you registered through the USA Masters Games website, you will be receiving an email on next steps for your registration. Michigan athletes that registered through the Meijer State Games of Michigan will have their registration transferred towards the Summer Games.
Opening Ceremony
While considering all the information available on COVID-19 and seeking advice from many of the parties involved with Opening Ceremony, we felt the best decision - for the safety and well-being of everyone – was to cancel Opening Ceremony.
Sports
Each sport will be affected differently by COVID-19 and sport-by-sport updates will be posted on the individual sports pages. Click here to view sports list.
