Details Released for 2018 Meijer State Games of Michigan – Summer Games

Olympic Day will be on June 23

Grand Rapids, Mich., May 23, 2018 – The 2018 Meijer State Games of Michigan − Summer Games will offer 39 sports at 49 different venues with an estimated 8,000+ athletes. The Meijer State Games of Michigan continues to add events to the lineup, which allows people of all age, gender and ability to compete. There are 30 days left until the Opening Ceremony (June 22) scheduled to take place on the main weekend of June 22-24.

The Meijer State Games of Michigan will host Olympic Day during the main weekend on June 23. Olympic Day will be celebrated with the track and field event at the East Kentwood High School track. Michigan Olympians will be recognized for their accomplishments during their athletic careers. Olympians will be present to pass out medals to event winners, and interact with athletes and fans. A list of confirmed Olympians will be available at a later date.

New sports to this year’s Meijer State Games of Michigan lineup are: Archery Tag, Footgolf, Shooting Sports (BB Gun, Air Rifle, Air Pistol), Ninja Warrior Competition and Paintball.

The sports at this year’s Summer Games are: 5k, Archery, Archery Tag, Badminton, Baseball, Basketball, BMX, Bocce Ball, Bowling, Boxing, Cricket, Cycling, Disc Golf, Field Hockey, Figure Skating, Footgolf, Golf, Hockey, Judo, Lacrosse (Girls), Ninja Warrior Competition, Paintball, Pickleball, Pinball, Rowing, Rugby, Shooting Sports, Skateboarding, Softball, Soccer, Swimming, Tae-Kwon-Do, Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball, Wakeboarding, Waterskiing, Weightlifting and Wrestling.
