COVID-10 Updates

Summer Games: Ongoing concerns surrounding COVID-19 will affect each event differently. Any updates that occur to this sport will be posted to this page. Registered athletes will be contacted about any changes that may occur. Read the Meijer State Games of Michigan statement on COVID-19.

Update as of 7/30/20: Due to complications with COVID-19, the Meijer State Games and Beach Wrestling Committee have decided to cancel the 2020 Beach Wrestling event. This decision was made with the best interests of the athletes, coaches, referees, volunteers and spectators in mind. We look forward to seeing everyone in 2021!

REGISTRATION & FEES: 

$30 for online registration
$32 for onsite registration
**Online registration for this event will close July 19, 2019 at 8:00 PM

WEIGHT CATEGORIES

Participants will be grouped into light weight, middle weight, and heavy weight.
Weigh in will be done at the time of registration to help determine "groups"

QUALIFICATIONS & DRESS 

Open to male and female participants. Wrestling experience is not required
Men- Swim trunks (not loose fitting), singlet
Women-swimsuit or workout attire suitable for beach wrestling (not loose fitting)
No club membership card required

STATE GAMES OF MICHIGAN WAIVER

All pre-registered players MUST go through the Meijer State Games of Michigan portal for waivers. Please choose “waiver only” division. Please note that going through this link does NOT register you or your team for this event.

EVENT INFORMATION

If participant is under 18 yrs. old, a Parent or Guardian must sign at bottom of registration form.
Participants must be present in competition dress and submit to a fingernail check and skin disease screening. Any skin problems that are questionable to the tournament staff or any official, whether the participant has a doctor’s note or not, will not be able to participate.
A mouth guard must be worn with braces (to protect the other wrestlers).
In the event of injury or illness, no participant will be permitted to continue without approval from the medical staff or tournament director.
The officials, tournament directors and/or the medical staff have full authority, without appeal, in determining the participation of the wrestler.
