Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do

Due to difficulties still surrounding COVID-19, the Tae Kwon Do event has been moved to a virtual event. We invite all competitors to compete virtually and get a real score from our panel of judges to stay competition ready!

Registrants will receive a Meijer State Games of Michigan medal and t-shirt for competing. All videos will be judged by our Tae Kwon Do event co-hosts, World Class Tae Kwon Do.

Event dates: April 27 - June 24, 2021

Cost: $25

Format: Basics and Forms (in one video)

Basics

  • 3 techniques of your choosing & belt level

  • Each technique will be demonstrated 3 times, forward & with a turn around

  • Participants may combine hand & kicking techniques

Forms

  • Any one form up to current belt rank

Belt Divisions:

  • White & Yellow

  • Yellow-Green, Orange, & Green

  • Green-Purple

  • Blue, Blue-Brown, & Red

  • Black

Age Divisions: 7 & under, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-17, 18-26, 27-39, 40+

Judging and Results: Experienced Tae Park Tae Kwon Do Judges will review and score each submitted video. Results will be posted by Monday, June 28. Results are just for fun and all participants will receive a medal and t-shirt.

What you get: Meijer State Games of Michigan Summer Games medal and t-shirt .

Score ranges: Participants will receive a score from our judges and a corresponding medal based upon that. The ranges are as follows:

  • Gold - 10.0 to 8.0

  • Silver - 7.9 to 6.0

  • Bronze - 5.9 and below

Deadline to register and submit video: Thursday, June 24 at 11:59 PM

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

  1. Register and check out with the product at the top of the page. Make sure your address is correct so we can mail your t-shirt and medal. NOTE: If you are having issues finding your cart, you can always access it at www.stategamesofmichigan.com/cart

  2. Submit your basic and forms video (one single video) to the Dropbox link below provided following registration. Please state your name and belt color at the beginning of the video to assist judges.

  3. Come back here to view event results. Also feel free to share any photos with us on social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter)!

STATE GAMES OF AMERICA

This event is a qualifying event for the 2022 State Games of America. Any athletes who place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd has the opportunity to compete in the 2022 State Games of America hosted in Ames/Des Moines, IA.
