Happy New Year: 2020 Preview

We hope you all are having a great start to 2020. We are getting ready for an action packed 2020 - here are some things to look forward to in the new year:

2020 Shirt Design

You voted on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to select the 2020 shirt design (pictured below). These shirts will be available to order on our website through the Summer Games. Shirts will start shipping at the end of January and more information on shirt type and color will be available soon.


Winter Games
February 14-16 (main weekend)

Featuring fifteen sports, the 2020 Winter Games will take place over 3 weekends and feature a Ninja competition for the first time. It will also be the first time Winter Games athletes can compete for the new square medals, launched at the 2019 Summer Games. Registration is open for the majority of sports!

Winter Merchandise

We will still have merchandise specific to the Winter Games (and Summer Games) that will be released at a later date. The merchandise will be available online and at select sports venues.

Athlete Celebration at the Griffins

Meijer State Games of Michigan athletes will be recognized at the February 14, Grand Rapids Griffins Game. We’ll be celebrating both Winter and Summer Games athletes at the game. Click here for more information and to get your tickets!


West Michigan Corporate Challenge

If you work in West Michigan, your company can get involved in the West Michigan Corporate Challenge! Companies that are ready to take the challenge are: the Amway Grand Plaza. Brunswick Bowling Products LLC, Marsh Berry & Co., Regal Financial Group, LLC, Suburban Inns and the West Michigan Sports Commission.

USA Masters Games

We'll be hosting the 2020 USA Masters Games (USAMG) in conjunction with the 2020 Summer Games. Athletes, 21+ years old, from all across the US (and world!) will be coming to Grand Rapids to compete in the USAMG. Michigan athletes (21+) can register as normal for the Summer Games for a chance to compete in the national event. Michigan athletes (21+) will have to pay the USAMG games fee in order to get a USAMG shirt and pass to get into social events.


Summer Games
June 26-28 (main weekend)

Registration for the 2020 Summer Games is set to open in mid-February. Updates on sports information and new sports will be coming soon.

Summer Games Opening Ceremony

The 2020 Summer Games Opening Ceremony will take place June 26 at Fifth Third Ballpark. The Human Cannonball is set to launch during Opening Ceremony! More information will be available as we get closer to the 2020 Summer Games.

Hockey Tryouts

Information on the 2020 Hockey Tournament has been posted and tryout registration is open. Tryouts will take place in May for all regions. Click here to learn more about the 2020 Tournament.

Pickleball Tournament

Registration for the 2020 Pickleball tournament is set to open March 1 and is expected to fill fast. Please mark this date and don't wait to register if you want to compete in the 2020 Pickleball tournament.
