Meijer State Games of Michigan Main Weekend Begins Thursday
Grand Rapids, Mich., June 19, 2019 — The 2019 Meijer State Games begins its’ main weekend of events this Thursday, June 20. This year’s games mark the 10-year anniversary of the Meijer State Games. The Summer Games will include over 40 sports being participated in this weekend with an estimated 8,000 participants expected to compete in the 2019 Summer Games.
The sports being played this weekend include: cricket, hockey, small bore rifle, bocce ball, 5k/cross country, golf, baseball, figure skating, archery 3D, tea kwon do, diving, youth swimming, field hockey, basketball, indoor wrestling, beach wrestling, badminton, archery FITA, rowing, BB gun, air rifle, air pistol, judo, track and field, water skiing, spikeball, BMX freestyle, synchronized swimming, skateboarding, fast pitch softball, skeet, rugby, sporting clays, footgolf, masters swimming, boxing, bowling, paintball, pinball and soccer.
Hockey practices will begin today as competition starts Thursday and continues all weekend.
Some sports require an admission fee for spectators. Baseball requires a $5 per vehicle fee, tea kwon do will charge $3 per student and $5 per adult, youth swimming requires a $5 fee for spectators, field hockey is a $5 fee for adults only, baseball requires a $5 per person entry fee, indoor wrestling will cost $7 per adult and $5 per child, judo requires a $5 spectator fee for anyone age 6 and up, track and field charges a spectator fee of $5 per person and soccer will require a $3 per day or $5 weekend fee for spectators over the age of 10.

Opening Ceremony will take place at Fifth Third Ballpark on Friday, June 21 at 7:30 p.m. Admission for adults over the age of 9 will be $5. There will also be a $5 parking fee.
