Mining Journal: Meijer State Games start Friday

MARQUETTE — Luge, ski jumping and other sports suited to the Upper Peninsula’s winter climate will be on display this weekend at the Meijer State Games of Michigan, which kicks off with an opening ceremony at 7 p.m. Friday at Marquette Mountain Resort.

Sports Destination Management: Michigan Sports Alliance Announces Meijer State Games of Michigan - Winter Games

Officials with the Michigan Sports Alliance announced the Meijer State Games of Michigan – Winter Games sports hub in Marquette, Michigan. The inaugural event will be held Feb. 25-27, 2022 and is open to all ages and ability levels. The traditional winter sports festival will feature 8 sporting events at 6 venues as well as an opening ceremony (Feb. 25, 2022) presented by Northern Michigan University.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Meijer State Games of Michigan are coming to the Marquette area later this month. The state games are a multi-sport, Olympic-style event that welcomes all athletes regardless of age or ability.

Eagle Mine is stepping up to offer financial assistance with their Adopt an Athlete program. It ensures athletes looking to compete in the games have a chance to without worrying about cost.
