Volunteer Ambassador Student Ambassador

  

Student Ambassador Program Information:
 
The Meijer State Games of Michigan is searching for School Ambassadors to help promote the Summer and Winter Games. This opportunity allows students to:
  • Gain excellent experience that will help to build their resume and improve their college application 
  • Learn about Marketing and Sport Management prior to entering college 
  • Fulfill volunteer hours for clubs, teams, classes, and school 
Student Ambassador Responsibilities:
  • Encourage fellow students to sign the Meijer State Games Anti-Drug Pledge
  • Actively promote and market the Meijer State Games to fellow students and the school community
  • Ensure that Meijer State Games promotional materials are displayed and distributed in the proper manner within your school
  • Meet with athletic coaches within your school, and present information about the Meijer State Games  
  • Promote the benefits of participation in the Meijer State Games to athletes within the school
  • Communicate with Meijer State Games staff about the progress of ongoing promotions
  • Aggressively promote Meijer State Games social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, etc)
  • Create effective ways to promote the Meijer State Games brand 
Qualifications: 
  • A student and athlete at a Michigan High School 
  • Outgoing, self-motivated, hardworking, and willing to actively encourage students to sign the Meijer State Games Anti-Drug Pledge 
  • Ability to use social media to promote the Meijer State Games brand 
  • Basic understanding of business and marketing principles 
  • Must have participated in the Meijer State Games of Michigan for at least one year as either an athlete, coach, or spectator
As a Meijer State Games Student Ambassador, you will receive:
  • Great volunteer work opportunity to include on a college application
  • Fulfill volunteer requirements for clubs, teams, projects, etc.
  • Gain experience in the competitive Sports Management and Marketing industries prior to entering college Ambassadors will be listed on the “Meijer State Games Student Ambassadors” section of the Meijer State Games website.
  • Ambassadors will be feature in the Parade of Athletes.
  • Upon request, we will send you promotional materials (flyers/postcards) to distribute.
  • Ambassadors will have their own MSG staff member contact that will assist you and all of your needs.

Traejon Renaud

Grand River Preparatory High School

Traejon Renaud  is a member of the Grand River Preparatory High School junior varsity basketball team and the Kentwood Track Club. Traejon has volunteered for the Habitat for Humanity and the Grand Rapids African American Health Institute (GRAAHI) annual Kids' Fun Run. As a two year participant of the Meijer State of Michigan Games, Traejon has participated in both the swimming and track and field competitions. Traejon is proud to be a 2014 ambassador of the Meijer State of Michigan Games and looks forward to spreading the word about the Games within his community.

Coby Moscowitz

Ernest W. Seaholm High School

Coby Moscowitz is a sophomore at Ernest W. Seaholm High School in Birmingham, MI. Coby has plenty of Meijer State Games of Michigan experience having been a four time gold medalist in Archery. In 2009, he won first place in the Male Recurve Bowman division. From 2010-2012, he has won 1st place in the Male Recurve Cub division. Coby is also a State Games of America champion having won the Male Recurve Cadet division in 2013. When Coby isn’t doing archery, he is heavily involved in leadership. He mentors young archers through the Oakland Country Sportmen’s club, had won awards such Youth Volunteer of the Year from The Arc of Oakland County, and is one of four elite selections for the Seaholm High School Diversity Retreat.

Max Anthes

Grand Haven High School

Max is a freshman at Grand Haven High School. He is heavily involved with freestlye skiing, soccer, cyclocross, and mountain biking. Max is no stranger to the Meijer State Games. In the Winter Games, Max won the rail jam contest as well as podiumed in slopestlye and big air. Nationally, Max is ranked in the top 10 for rail jam and top 20 for slopestyle. He is competing in the USASA Nationals at Copper Mountain this spring. Max is also the keeper for the U16 Lakeshore Premier Soccer Club. The club made it to the quaterfinals of the State Cup last year and continue to be a powerhouse at the state and regional level.

Rhianna Haynes

Chippewa Hills High School

Rhianna is a freshman at Chippewa Hills High School with a 4.33 GPA. Rhianna has been actively involved in volleyball for four years in the Parks-n-Rec program, two years in school, and two years of AAU (Amateur Athletic Union). She is a member of the Honors Society and student council, and has enjoyed two years on both competitive math and science teams. Rhianna volunteered for the Meijer State Games in 2013, and is looking forward to being apart of the 2014 amassador program of the State Games.
