Olympic Day invites children from the local area to learn more about the Olympic Movement and the three Olympic Pillars: Learn, Move and Discover. Throughout Olympic Day the children will hear inspirational words from Olympians that live within the state of Michigan, tour the facilities at Fifth Third Ballpark and run the bases on the ballfield. The first ever Olympic Day was celebrated in 1948. Today, it is celebrated in several countries all over the world.

Fred Lowe (Weightlifting, 1968-1976)
Fred Lowe was a three-time Olympic weightlifter from 1968-1976. During his career he was an eight-time U.S. champion in 1969-70, 1972-76 and 1981. He was the first American middleweight to clean and jerk over 400 lbs. He is also a member of six Halls of Fame for weightlifting and strength sports. 




Mackenzie Woodring (Cycling, 2008-2016)
Mackenzie has been a tandem pilot for the Paralympics and attended the Rio and Beijing games. She is a two-time Paralympian (2008, 2016) and a three-time medalist (one gold, one silver, one bronze). She competed in Beijing in the 2008 Paralympic games and received gold in road time trial, silver in road race and bronze in pursuit. She has been piloting tandem bikes for visually impaired riders for over eight years. Mackenzie has experience in the World Championship from 2009-2016. Mackenzie is from Grand Rapids, Michigan.
