Meijer State Games - Winter Games begin with busy day, and the weather cooperates

Wallner MLive.com GRAND RAPIDS, MI - The weather cooperated with temperatures in the upper 20s and low 30s as the second Meijer State Games of Michigan - Winter Games began its first day of events Saturday. A total of 19 sports, ranging from wrestling indoors to fat bike racing outside were held at sites across the Grand Rapids area. Events continue through Sunday. For more information click here.

92-year-old bowler from Marne not happy with her average

Wallner Mlive.com Emma Dausman drove to the bowling alley as another couple of inches of snow fell, made it through the parking lot with temperatures near zero and shortly thereafter proclaimed disappointment at her average. "I'm at 117 and I definitely have a ways to go," she said from Clique Lanes in Grand Rapids earlier this week. "I have been as high as 139." Dausman isn't your typical 92-year-old. 2nd annual Winter Meijer State Games this weekend

Cold weather won't freeze competitive spirit at Meijer Winter Games
