Just like the Olympics, our Summer Games' Opening Ceremonies are a tradition like no other. Onsite registration will be available prior to the ceremony at the entrance of the ballpark where the athletes will receive their complimentary State Games t-shirts, goodie bags, and credentials. At 7:30, the ceremony kicks off with the Parade of Athletes. You and your teammates will be featured on television walking down the center of Fifth Third Ballpark waving to your friends, family, and of course, fans. After the parade, you can sit back, relax, and watch a special performance by the Olate Dogs and the lighting of the Cauldron.
3. Prepare To Compete
After getting a good night's rest, it is important to a good meal before a big event so you can feel energized while you compete. Many athletes also jog, stretch, and listen to music to get the zone for big events.
4. Take Pictures With Your MSGOM Medal
While smelling like victory with your shiny new Meijer State Games of Michigan medal, be sure to take lots of pictures on the podium and with your teammates to celebrate your success. We want to see them, too! Hashtag your pictures #MSGOM or tag us on our Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram accounts.
